A Day at RisingStars

Learning, Playing, and Growing Together

At RisingStars Childcare, we want every child to feel safe, comfortable, and excited to come through the door.

Our small family childcare setting gives children the comfort of a familiar home, consistent care, close friendships, and plenty of personal attention. Throughout the day, children have opportunities to learn, play, explore, create, rest, and practice doing more things independently.

A typical day may include:

  • Circle time and social-emotional learning

  • Small groups and learning centers

  • Early literacy, mathematics, and science

  • Art and creative activities

  • Outdoor discovery and active play

  • Music and movement

  • Stories and conversations

  • Child-led and imaginative play

  • Nutritious meals and snacks

  • Nap and quiet rest

  • Self-help skills and age-appropriate responsibilities

  • Friendship-building and lots of everyday fun

The schedule below gives families an idea of what a typical day looks like. Activities and times may change based on the children’s interests, developmental needs, weather, special activities, and unexpected learning opportunities.

If the children are deeply involved in an activity, excited about something they discovered outside, or need a little more time during a transition, we may adjust the schedule to meet the needs of the group.

Every day may be a little different, but our purpose remains the same: to make sure each child feels cared for, included, encouraged, and proud of what they are learning.

INFANT DAILY SCHEDULE

At RisingStars Childcare, we understand that infants thrive on consistent and individualized routines. Our infant care program is tailored to meet each child's unique needs, development, and family preferences.

Feeding:

  • Infants are fed on-demand or according to the schedule provided by parents.

  • We follow each family’s instructions regarding bottle preparation, breast milk handling, introduction of solids, and dietary restrictions.

Sleeping:

  • Infants nap according to their individual sleep patterns. We provide a quiet, calm sleeping environment in accordance with safe sleep guidelines.

  • We regularly communicate with parents about any changes in sleep schedules or patterns.

Diapering and Personal Care:

  • Diapers are changed frequently throughout the day, typically every two hours or as needed.

  • We use hygienic practices, including sanitizing changing areas and washing hands before and after diapering.

Play and Developmental Activities:

  • Activities are carefully chosen to stimulate sensory exploration, gross and fine motor skills, and early language development.

  • We offer tummy time, sensory activities, music and movement sessions, story time, and gentle interactions to foster healthy development.

Communication with Parents:

  • Each infant’s daily activities, including feeding times and amounts, nap durations, diaper changes, mood, and developmental milestones, are documented daily and shared with parents through our communication system (Brightwheel).

  • Parents are encouraged to discuss any concerns, updates, or adjustments needed in their child's routine.

Our aim is to partner closely with parents to ensure that the infant care provided at RisingStars Childcare is consistent, nurturing, and aligned with each family’s values and expectations.
